Other Resources

One of the most useful resources for reseaching African-American burials in Albemarle County is the J.F. Bell Funeral Database. The project was begun in 2001 between the African American Genealogy Group of Charlottesville and the J.F Bell Funeral Home in Charlottesville. The genealogy group transcribed death certificates for individuals buried by the Funeral Home, up until the 1970s.
