I have just at hand your favour of 11th Septr. and advice of the safe arrival of the Negro Boy Robin in James River -- I know not how to express at present my sense of your kindness & trouble in this matter but if happier times by an honourable accomodation arrive, you may be assured I will endeavour to return them - at present I am unconnected in foreign business, for which this place is in not [sic] favourably situated when so much depends on dispatch
