Biography Board Criteria



PURPOSE: To gain a more thorough understanding of an individual person or event in U.S. History

METHOD: A multi-sensory approach to problem solving, resource production and content acquisition.



REQUIREMENTS


THE BIOGRAPHY BOARD:

1. Size: 11" x 14" [no exceptions]
2. Contents:  
  A. Photos and/or drawings of individual or event.
  B. Timeline which communicates important events in the person's life and how these events relate to other historical events chronologically.
  C. Xerox or type appropriate captions to pictures when applicable.
  D. Written information which stresses important:
    1.  Contributions
    2.  Impact
    3.  Lasting Influence
    4.  Philosophy or ?
  E. Questions: Include 5 questions that a student should be able to answer after reading your board.
3. Your name, as producer, should be placed in the lower right hand corner.
4. The board should be able to "stand on its own" as a resource. It should be AN ANSWER NOT A QUESTION.
5. Biography boards should be laminated or covered in clear plastic. [You MUST have the teacher's permission before doing this].

Remember: This product should be aesthetically pleasing. It is a means of communication. You should plan your board's appearance and consider it an important element of its worth.
