Integrated Protest in Front of the Roanoke Times.
|
|
No spoken word. Members of The Hollins Movement demonstrated outside the Times World
Corporation in Roanoke. Nineteen blacks and six whites carried signs that protested The
Roanoke Times and the Roanoke World News for its refusal to publish black weddings and
engagements. Officials from the two newspapers had no comment. (Roanoke World News, May 5, 1967)
