Chairman Robert Peck Comments on Integration
|
|
Arlington County School Board Chairman Robert A. Peck discussed the possibility of
schools being integrated in January in accordance with Federal District Judge Albert V.
Bryan's decision. Judge Bryan had delayed the admission of four black students to
previously all white schools until January. Peck asserted that the Board members would
have to assess the situation within Virginia and the country in the following months
before determining the correct course for Arlington's schools in January, also suggesting
that the Judge's ruling might open new avenues.
