Almond stood for an interview with presumptive Democratic nominee John F. Kennedy at
the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. Almond claimed that the vote in
Virginia for Kennedy and Johnson was real, not hopeful, and expected the state to go for
the Democratic ticket.
