WDBJ September Showdown Introduction to Governor Almond Interview
(WDBJ Television, Roanoke, VA)

WDBJ's John Meredith Patterson introduced a piece of the September Showdown program. Governor Lindsay Almond indicated that the Virginia school laws would be enforced in Norfolk in the fall of 1958, while the Norfolk school board said it would not comply with the federal court order. Earlier that day Governor Almond spoke to WDBJ newsman Forest Landon about the September Showdown.
