Transcription of Letter

March 17, 1921

My dear Sister,

Your letter received and very glad to hear from you. I am well today, but on the fifteenth of March all the boys were inoculated in the arm and so was I. My arm was swollen and some but is better now. We will be inoculated two more times att intervals of ten days.

I received a letter from Jessie Smith and it was all right only I can't afford to give her my photo. I would

not mind giving her a small snapshot of myself providing she gave me a photo first.

I had a half dozen made but don't you tell her how many I had made because when I write Jessie I [missing text] going to tell her I only had three made.

How are you getting along in your studies now. Have you a fellow yet?

I think those pictures were very good of me, and I wish I could show you the letter my girl wrote me when I gave it to her. She is a sweet little girl, May I mean. She have me two handkerchiefs for my birthday present. She made them. [missing text] I told her you were going to write her some times and she said she would

be very glad to hear from you. I am going to get a large picture of her and a lock of her beautiful hair when school closes. You must write her a sweet letter. Her address is Miss B. Adele Smith.

I have a picture of her when she was about 11 yrs. old, and she wants me to give her my mother's photo but I havent any. She will be your sister-in-law someday. ha. ha.

How is Alta getting on in school and has she any

fellows now. probably sometimes I will write her a few lines.

We are having very beautiful weather now and I hope it will continue

May, I dont think I can come with the baseball team because I need some money right now or East. I want to give Adele a bunch of rose on Easter Sunday as the custom is here, and I want a cap also.

Oh! I received your present you sent me on my birthday and I certainly do appreciate it. Mother got after me for not writing you. Every thing is fairly well at home I guess.

on a table in the dining room and every time I pass her I call her "?Mum? Juley,"

I heard from Beatrice sometime ago but I havent answered her letter as yet.

Do you ever hear any more of Lizzie Johnson and where is Kate Monroe?

I am not going any where this summer as I have to stay here if nothing happens. I may have 15 days vacation and if I do I want to work one week and there go to Washington D.C. How about it Are you planning to go back to Jersey this summer. Now I have written a long letter and I want you to write me all the news Tell Jessie I will write soon but please dont show her

Happy Easter

This letter [missing text] or tell her how many pictures I had made as I dont want to give her any right now. I have got to find out how I am standing.

Give my love to all your room-mates and tell them don't get frightened at my photo. Tell Izora, Hanks has been sick.
