February 1, 1921

My Dear Daughter.

Mother rec. your letter this A.M. very glad to know you was enjoying good health well I've been real sick first of all last week I had a phone message from Howardsville saying Aunt Willaim Brown was dead I was so surprise and shocked I left on the noon train for Howardsville to be at the funeral on thurs. she wasn't sick a week pneumonia

so I staid untill Friday came to the train Mr R. brought me. & when I got to Depot [missing text] there was a wreck of freight cars so no telling when I would get to warren so Mr R decided to drive thro county I did not get cold but Sat I was so sick got up could not make it so had to go to bed [missing text] and was in bed Sat & Sun & part day Mon. Miss Dickey Nora & Mrs H all very nice they cooked got along best they could. Miss D. did not want me to stir hardy, but

thank the Lord I have been up all day to day. I had neuralgia so badly. B took after fire, so I am thankful to the Lord I am up again but my head bothers me Aunt Joe was well only tired out frm going back a forth attending Aunt Willie both of Mr R cousins was there I had to laugh when I thot how you dislike the preacher. Aunt J & Mr R send much love to you Aunt Willie's daughter Louise came home from

N.Y. Well who should drop in on us tonight but Herbert- only for a few days look well two only for few days. Freddie Brooks goes with Lizzie Johnson some I think he was with her at church last [missing text] Sunday night Lucy looking after Shafter & he looking at some body else. had letter frm R last wk now I must close May the Lord bless you why did your room mate go home love to alta Miss D. send love she was going to put letter in mine but wants to sleep as well
