My dear Mother,
Your interesting letter was received and I was very glad to hear from you. I sincerely trust that you are feeling better
by this time. Perhaps you did after eating some candy. Did you receive the candy I sent you on Mother's Day? I trust that
you did.
I prayed for you on Mother's Day. I heard a special sermon on Mother, and I must confess I came near crying when I that of
all you have done for us and what you are still doing. All I am I owe it to you and your teachings. May God bless and keep
you in the Hollow of His Hand. I love you, Mother, and someday I may be able to repay
(page 2)
the debt I owe you. Now, I can only offer gratitude and love in return for your kindness and loving counsel.
Well, we have only a few weeks here and as yet I do not know where I will be during the summer. I sent my application in
to the Law school but I have received no answer as yet. Will you call up Cousin William and tell them to be on the look out
for a letter for me. I m filling out the blank I put their address on it and they (the Law School) May send the letter there instead of sending it
here. If Cousin William has received a letter for me, tell him to send it to me.
Yes, Mother please send suitcase to me about the first of week after next.
I am sending you a report of my Hampton record. Please send it back as I will need to send it to Newark very soon. Be sure
to return it to me in next letter. I am glad our house is being repaired. I will help as soon as I locate myself this summer.
I am praying that May will pass. Love to all friends,
I am your Loving Son
Roger.
