April 14, 1925.

My darling Mother,

I received your letter today and I guess you have recd. the one I wrote you in Rchd. also Well I are on this hill again, but I must say I had a most delightful stay why Susie certainly did show me a lovely time.

Friday I arrived and I shall try and give the schedule of my stay from that time Friday night I ate a big supper just as much as I could eat and then Susie and I went in the parlor and played about every record on the Victrola. we

did not go to bed until about 2 o'clock A.M. Well we got up about 10:30 Sat. Morning ate our breakfast cleaned up the dishes and cleaned up the dishes and cleaned the parlor and etc. then we dressed up and went down town and Susie carried me to the Lyric theatre to a vauderville act. after that or rather it was about 5 o'clock we finish shopping, so we rushed back, because she was giving this card party for me that night. When we got back we ate our supper then we arranged our card tables for the party and we played it like you play bridge some swell I mean, She, invited 12 people including her and myself. The party consisted of 6 fellows from Union, and 6 girls. The names of them were, Mr. Mc. Williams Mr. Williams mr. Purvall, Mr. Jackson, Mr. Smith and Mr. Couts and the Misses, Baker, Seay, Cogill, Cogill, Yancey, & Jenkins and we did have some fun, we danced before and after the card party. I wore my satin slippers as the others did not come and my lace dress and green silk slip. Then they served refreshments, salmon salad, cheese sandwiches, hot cocoa

with marshmellows on top and mints. [missing text] The party left at twelve o'clock, so susie and I cleaned up the dishes and straightened the things out and when use reached the bed it was 2:30 A.M. Then sunday Susie and I went to Ebenezer Baptist Church, and it is a beautiful church indeed it was packed owing to Easter. then we came from church and stopped by Rev. Beecher Taylor's home, he wishes to be remembered to you. We also called on another girl friend of Susie's, then we came home and one of her girl friends were was invited to their home for dinner so we had a lovely dinner and after

dinner we talked and played Victrola and about 7 o'clock Dr. Beecher Taylor Jr. came driving around in his car and carried Susie and I all over Richmond up to Union University and all around we got in about 8:30 p.m. then we called on another one of her friends, and came home & crawled in about 11:15 p.m. As Ms. Jenkins said we had to go to bed early.

Then got up about 9:30 Monday morning and ate breakfast went down town did some shopping, come back went to her friends home again &

spent a delightful time playing a game of whist. Then she called her girl friend up and a bunch of us went out to day the game between V.N.& I.I. and Union, of course Union won from us this time and I was properly teased by two of the fellows I met at the party sat. night. one of them was realy cute he is taking pre-medical course in Union, Altho I was not ?vaniped? by any ha, ha I had a wonderful time. I came back to school at 7:00 o clock p.m. or rather left Richmond at seven and around

here at 8:30 p.m. Mrs Jenkins & them were delighted to have me and I certanly had a lovely stay indeed. I guess you will get tired of reading this letter. no mother I havent recd. shoes yet maybe I shall get them tomorrow. no you can send board around last of this month since you are always on time I know it stranid you mother and it worried

me a good deal by that man disappointing you in that way, but thanks the Lord only one more time to pay for board after this I hope you will get a little rest. had a lovely Easter Card from Morton today, William has put me up for fair we dont even correspond any more. love to everyone. I also had a card from Roger.
