My dear Mother,

Your letter received and we I were very glad to hear from you.

You will find enclosed a money order for ten dollars. We certainly hope that you are going to have a fine time on your trip to Fredericksburg

and Richmond.

Mother I am leaving here for New York Saturday. Sunday night I shall take a Pullman for Danville, Va. I am expecting to see Adele while there. From there I go to Roanoke and thence to Cambria, Some trip. I certainly hope that I shall be successful

in my new work. Sunday I had to read a Paper at a Christian Endeavor meeting at the Bethel A.M.E., Church. My subject was Race Consciousness as an Important Factor in Racial Development and Progress. I received many congratulations There were three or four other young people on program, Including

Miss Ellen Nicholas. Scott (Cousin Willie) had charge of program.

Bennie wants you to send him that brown hat of mine. Please send as soon as possible. He also says if you need any money while away, write to him.

My address will be after Sept. 5th. Christiansburg Institute Cambria, Va.
