March April 2, 1923

My dear mother

I am Writtting you a few lines to let you hear from me. I am Well and hope you are the same. I rec, you letter and the [missing text] ($2.00) for shoes. I went over town but I rather to have a new pair they cost three dollars and a half $3.50. I had too spend 50¢ of it 25¢ for hair cut some other things if you will send me $1.75 Why I want $1.75, because I want 25¢ for to pay for some books that We has to get. Our play is going to be Friday night. I hope We will have good success. Mothe We got to pay three dollars on the 15th of this months must I let them take it out of my brackage fee or not it is for the convention [missing text] raly.

Mother you accuse me wrong you may have sent the package two weeks ago but I on that Saturday night and I wrote you on a Sunday and sent the letter away on [missing text] Monday, I also wrote May, an Roger I sent you a Easter card did you get it, I hope you had a Very good Easter

I was ove miss Dickey she told you hadn't answered her letter. Mothe I will tell you what I kneed I need some under Ware summe Winter all worn out some shirts Withe collars on them an some collars by theme selves 14 neck no large. I am in a hurry this Evening Mothe I hate ask you for money I realy kneed it you can't work and make I will write you again
