October 30, 1919

My Dear Mother,

I received your letter & Box and was Very glad to rec. it. I am well an hope you are the same How is May and Benny and Mr. Vaughn daughter; Hampton played St. Paul. lost sat. football and Beat her 25-0 Sat 1 of Nov.

at 2:30 we play Lincoln Univ. of course Now I need about $3.00 for some Things I need to get. The School owes me now $100.83 dont you think this fine. Lincoln beat us play foot Ball by a score 14-6 one of our main players was hurt. It is getting Very cold down here now. The King and Queen came to Old Point and Norfolk friday and 21 guns from the fort and Battle ships was fired

Mother I certainly did enjoy the box sent me and I suppose you say what do I do with the money you send me? But it so hard to keep money now somany pledges for students every Sunday I am going from six oclock in Morning until nine at night and not 15 min. in my room during whole day Sunday is only time I have to wright
