My dear Mrs. Yancey,

It was with great surprise that I received yours of the 26th telling me that your husband passed away so long ago. I had thought it strange that he had stopped sending his report blank which he had always been so particular to do. I shall be much interested to know whether your boy is admitted. If I comes, I shall surely see him, and I surely trust he will be just the student for this great school. I was always personally interested in his father.

With thanks for your letter

Very truly yours,
M.J. Sherman
