My Dear Mrs Yancey,

I hope you are well to gether with the remainder of your family. I certainly appreciated the confidence imparted in me by your request that I would look after Prof Yancey, Unfortunately I was not here at the time of his arrival and my former Engagements were such that I could not see him until today however he is in the Memorial Hospital and doing fine, there is no reason for any uneasiness. I spent quite a while with him to-day. He is cheerful, and the Drs say he will be well again. We cannot tell when he will be allowed to leave certainly not sooner than a week. He asked me to tell you to tell, Miss B. Lewis to have one of his advanced scholars to take charge of her room, and she look after his room during his absence. Tell Mr Gilmore he will be out for 5 or 6 days. And furthermore if you desire to come down you may. I want to assure you that we will see that he is properly cared for

(page 2)

And we will be only too glad to have you come down. My family sends love to you Remember me to the children and friends Write me at once I am yours to render such service as is in my power.
