My dear Mother,

Your letter rec'd and very glad to hear from you. It found me well and plenty of hot weather.

I hope you and Benny are very well and getting along nicely. Yes mother please put the money in bank in either name you wish.

Cousin Willie had moved to Newport News and I told him that I couldn't make it at the money

(page 2)

I was getting so he told me if I could find another job to do so. I am a little worried because I need a suit of clothes because my one is getting holy and too short

I also need some shirts and socks and collars because when I came out of school I only had two dress shirts and they are wearing out Those collars you sent me are too large and high. Please do not worry but you can see where I am sometimes I wish I had gone out of the

I have a good notion of going away.

I spent the 5th (4) of July very pleasantly at Bayshore.

I saw an automobile smash up but no one was hurt.

How did you all spend the 4 and 5th? I received the two papers this afternoon and enjoyed reading the Esmont news Yes Mother the cherries were in a fine condition and I ate ever one of them.

I will have to send you another bucket as the hous lady removed it. I am glad Esmont is coming out on top. Please have them to build a large modern church with plenty of room for improvement and choir behind speaker

I have got to have two pair of shoe repaired and it cost 2.00 per pair.

Hoping to hear from you reall soon.

I am your Son
Roger

Pray that I may get a good job.
