My dear Mother,
Your letter received also money and was very glad to hear from you. I am well and truly hope you and Benny are the same I
am rooming in Hampton at the above address for 2.00 per week and I've got to get a job in the shipyard Tues and work for a month for .30 per hour which I dont like a bit but cousin Willie says I may be able to get a transfer to some department in ?the? yard. I am going to stick it throu.

I passed in all of my final examinations and am now 2 printer Second year! of the 4 year course! I like this place where
I am sleeping but I'm afraid you will have to send me a dollar or two as I have to buy my meals in a Restaurant and I won't
go to work before Tuesday. Mother I saw the boys off to the brick yard about 46 of them and I certainly wish I had gone for
they are getting from 4.25 to 5.25 a day I surely had the blues when they left and If I had had enough money I would have

gone to Plainfield or Sparrow's point.
Give my love to all of the boys and girls and Tell them they must write
Tell Benny I shall write him very soon. Mother I have some stuff such as my old uniform and overcoat to send home because
they are in the way. I need a suit and some other things and If I have good luck I shall send you some money soon Mother
every picture I have made it does not come out like I wanted it to so I am not sending you one as yet.
