January 1, 1920

My Dear Mother,

Arrived at 11:20 all safe but was some tired and am now and this evening we have to play in a parade all over Hampton and Phoebus (he said) and you know I will be some tired when night comes.

I met my "wife" in Richmond Yesterday Morning when I arrived there.

I couldn't buy a ticket from Warren to Hampton so I bought one to Richmond one there to Hampton

It was a good plan of Mr. Pryor to start early because we didn't get to Warren until 4:30.

What did Cousin Arthur say? Give my love to all of the people. How is Mr. & Mrs. Harris and [missing text] and Simpsons. [missing text] and [missing text] People. I dont feel very much like writing now. This is the [missing text] telling you about now I will close wishing you a Happy and Prosperous New Year
