Dear Harriet

I am afraid my chances of driving down to Esmont & seeing you are slimmer than when wrote you about it.

Mary is leaving her job and Washington as of October 1- and

(page 2)

will be married- last of November or first of December to John Du Bois of Rochester. He has been here twice with her and we like him very much- a man about her own age- & amply able to take care of her--so I wont be visiting Washington any more.

(page 3)

I spent most of the summer right here in Plainfield- it wasn't a very hot summer. I had some one of my grand children here though most of the time but I liked that little David, 11 years old would like to come & live with me.

I see your family- the Darsies have moved from Rahway Road to Prospect Ave. I know the house- it is where the Fisks used to live- & not a small place by any means, but maybe smaller than where they ?were? Plainfield is growing enormously- it seems to me- The out lying districts are just full of small houses- all alike- Ave Greenbrook Road & all out by me- I have no "country" any more near me- to walk my dog.

You must be nicely located on your place. I would like to see a picture of it Esmont & that country is beautiful I remember especially-lovely trees.

Let me hear from you. & take care of yourself. I suppose that Church door is never open- but that you pass through!!!
