Oct 17th

My dear and lovely friend it was so sweet of you to send me the copies of the add. how funny it seem to me if she had writen to Plainfield I would of goten it My dear we cam thro Esmont [missing text] on our way to Tucson Arizona what a trip we had we stoped in Ronoke V. and it was a fine place- We stayed over night whith a ?dh? and ?dbs? plenty he was some thing at the Ronoke Hotell fore about 28 ore 30 year and we stoped at knoxville tennsee. over night thand to Nashville Tenneese than to little Rock Ark. then to Big Spring texas than to El Paso tex than to New Mexico all the places we

stayed over night Paul did not drive at night some days was very hot coming thro the desert awful hot but nights was surprisingly cold cool one could all [missing text] ways sleep under cover now you know Mrs. Mc. passed one year a go last June and last winter febuary out here ?Dr. Ducet? died you know Mrs Elizabeths husband so all is out here now is Mr McGee and Miss Elizabeth Mr. McGee is fair not to good. he is 90 years old she was 88 when she died she left us all a little something which I appreciate very much now dear I shall write to that friend who is advertising fore me I heard that old Lewis got married last winter I think Married a Rev Page- she was luck how about it well I am very happy here but just cant get away from here fore a while last winter I went to

home in Easton Maryland and stayed 3 months with half pay it was a good rest fore me so I hated to leave my husband to come all the way out here- it is 26 hundred miles from Plainfield and it took 6 9- (nine) days to get here as I said we did not travel by night takes a airplain 12 hours by Rail 3 1/2 days, I bleive 4 days so [missing text] but it was a wonderful trip the road thro the mountains was un usua sometime be wae below the mountains than on top looking dow at the [missing text] we would be even with the tree tops and coming thro the dessert very dry and mountains also hot sandy but we had perfect luck and favorable weather this is a land of sunshine people from evry where out here to

get there health back Mr McGee has the asthma you know what I mean I will give them you message and thank you fore writing me give my love to Cara Wayne and lots fore yor self and write me a gain my mail well all ways be forwarded to me
