Dies on Way Home From Funeral
Mrs. Henry Walker of 657 W. Third St. died
unexpectedly yesterday (Dec. 18, 1947) after
suffering a heart attack while en route home from
the funeral of a friend, Mrs. Betty Pollard. Mrs.
Walker was in the car with her husband. She had
become ill upon leaving Calvary Baptist Church,
where the service for Mrs. Pollard was held, but
went on to Hillside Cemetery. On the way home, Mrs.
Walker felt worse, so her husband drove up
to the emergency entrance of Muhlenberg Hospital. Mrs.
Walker was pronounced dead on arrival at the
institution.
Mrs. Walker was born in Whiteville, N.Y., and
resided in Plainfield about 40 years. She was a
member of Mt. Zion AME Church, Rebecca Chapter 103,
Eastern Star, and Terrill Tent 34. She was the
daughter of Mrs. Annie W. Moore of the W. Third St.
address, and the late Thomas Williams. Her husband
and mother are the only survivors.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday
in Mt. Zion AME Church. The Rev. O. E. Lattimore will
officiate. Internment will be in the family plot in
Hillside Cemetery.

POLLARD- On Saturday, Dec. 13, 1947, Bettie Pollard, beloved
mother of the Misses Florence and Helen Pollard. Nathan
Hencewood and Howard Pollard of 1259 Columbia Ave.
Services on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 1:30 p.m. from
the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. C.P. Harris will
officiate.
Internment in family plot, Hillside Cemetery.
Terrell Tent No. 34 will hold their ritualistic
services in the home on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. 17

B. Whiting, 610 W. [West] Fourth St.
