Dear Grandma;

How are you? I hope this letter finds everyone happy and in the best of health. I received your lovely letter and I was very glad to hear from you. However I am truly sorry that I did not write to you sooner. I am asking that you [missing text].

As you know I am back in school. My vacation being over. The weather here is warm and sunny. With the fellows and girls just wearing sweaters and other light clothing. How is the weather there?

as for our football team it isn't doing much either we have played four games and lost four. We lost to Hampton 13-7 St. Augustine 18-6 Va. S. 28-0 and today to A & T (Sat. Oct. 14) 55-0 Our great football team of the past four years is gone. I don't know wether we will win a game this year or not.

I am doing well in my classes this year also. I have received a few letters from my mother but I am surprised that they have been so few.

I really want to thank you for such a wonderful summer. I really enjoyed every minute pleasure. The food was excellent as always (smile). I was also very glad to see you again, I have

so much to be thankful for. I am sorry I was not able to stay for the revival, and certainly wish I was in a position to send your church something. I am sorry that you had such a bad cold and hope that you are over it. Take care of yourself and don't work so hard. Give my love to everyone and tell them I send wishes of much success and happiness. Has ma written you yet?

We finally got home safely after a very tiresome and hetic trip I know you found out the trouble we had. Thanks for the wonderful lunch. Tell Mary, Juanita and the others I asked about them when they get home Christmas.

You are not going to come up

Christmas or have you changed your mind. I hope you do decide to come up Christmas. Well thanks again for the lovely summer and write as often as possible however I know you are very busy as I am too.

Grandma, thanks a million for the money and stamp. You always seem to know when I need money and every time so far that you have sent me something it has been a life savior. However I know your predicament and you don't have to send me something every time you write. However thanks a million I am sending this stamp back on your envelope. Well I guess I will be closing now. Hoping to see you soon. Pray for me!

Your Loving Grandson
Billy
