Mrs H.A. Yancey,
Esmont, Va.
Dear Mrs. Yancey:

I appreciate your very interesting letter I received some time ago. I had planed to see you all before now, but each Sunday planed to come to Esmont

I would be called on to serve here in the City; or our leader for the City jail service, would be out of the City, and I being his assistant tried to be on hand at the jail.

It means so much to try and help those Who are down but not out.

I would like to be able to give you a deffinate answer.

(page 2)

about what you wrote me, but I hope I'll be up in a few weeks and then it will not be too late I hope. Helen wishes me to sell if I will; but the Truth is I have partly in my mind to come back to Esmont.

I have not had a job here for about two years. I may have to come back up there. You know I am [missing text] baby now. Well then it is always a surprise to hear of ones death but it should not be. Mr Dawson, Deacon Taylor, Mrs Thomas and will be missed, I cannot immagine how it looks from the road to not see Mrs. Pryor's house

Well those who have can lose those who have not cannot. Mrs [missing text] Pryor has my prayers and good wishes. I am planing to come up now very soon, Till then I remain sincerly yours in Christian fellowship.

W.A. Harris.
