My darling Mother,

Received Package. How kind of you! The cake is most delicious and I have already begun to eat the peach preserves. The nut bread I ate at once. Many, many, thanks.

Last night, I had my first quiz. It was very difficult. I hope that I passed.

Mother, is it possible for you to come over Thursday afternoon and remain until 6 o'clock in order to see that picture? I told the man that I would try to get you to come so that you might tell him if the work is satisfactory.

(page 2)

Let me know in advance whether to expect you.

I want you to take a present back for Mae's Birthday also.

I am getting along O.K. Dell sends love.

Best regards to all and best wishes for your success and happiness

Your obedient son,
Roger

Please pray for my success in law school.
