Prof. Yancey,
I have entended writing you for some time but to express it in a ludicrous way would say I have been up against it for the past two weeks
we have been in our new home a week last Wednesday and this being my first sabbath here I embrace this opportunity to drop
a few lines to some of my friends. I was in Pamplin on last Sunday and spent a very pleasant time. to-day is a most disagreeable one here It has been raining for two days and it is quite cold I do not know just when you left here
I phoned every day to enquire after your condition and Friday the nurse told me you was doing well but did not expect you to leave until the following
week. Consequently I called Sunday to spend some time and to my surprise the bird had flown. I hope you are doing well and
steadily improving drop me just a line to let me hear from you as we are anxious to know how you are all sends love. How is
things in Esmont? Address me as 409 & 11 Mechanics Bank Bldg
I am ever your Friend & Brother W.H. James, Jr.
