Special Notice as to Constitutions

We are enclosing you three copies of our Constitution. One is for the Presiding Shepherd; one is for the Vice-Shepherd, and the other is for the Financial Scribe. We desire every member of our Order to have in his possession a copy of the laws. We are of the opinion that much trouble in societies during the past two years has been brought about by the failure on the part of the members to fully acquaint themselves with the laws of the society to which they belong.

A society when properly managed and conducted is like a family circle-- each member should feel himself interested in its welfare. It is our desire that the members of this Order will take the same personal interest in its welfare as they do in their churches and homes.

A more beautiful picture cannot be painted which would truly represent the ideal society than to see each and every member of that Order in possession of a copy of the laws under which he lives, moves and has his fraternal being. In order that this idea be carried out, we want every member of this Order to buy and keep in his possession a copy of the Constitution of the Order. We want the Secretary of each Fold to urge upon every member thereof to buy a copy of the Constitution of the Order, which can be had for 10 cents per copy. This is not selling you the Constitution.

We simply desire to furnish them to the members at cost of printing and postage. Send us the number you want for the members of your Fold at once. Send the money with the order.

Yours in Honesty, Faithfulness and Devotion,
J. Thomas Hewin, Grand Shepherd
B.F. Yancey, Financial Sec'y-Treas.
