Dearest Sweet heart
When I came home to'day and found a letter from you I was so surprised, but glad To think that I have one whom I can depend upon especially to do
as I asked. Your letter was short but Sweet and I enjoyed reading
Mother doesn't like the ring that I intended to send, so I am sending you the candy, and hope that you'll like it. Proably you get it Saturday afternoon. Sweet heart how I miss you since you went away, No one to hold in my arms on Sunday nights, I am spending my Sunday at the Colored Show
in Newark, N.J.

It is raining to night and I have just come from a dance down Turn Hall but they only had twenty people in the Hall so I came home.
It's a dance every other night. Yes, dear I promised you that I would quit Basket ball but you wouldn't listen to me once so we are getting even. I hope you wont get the Idea that you wont get the ring, but you'll get it sooner or later. Sweet heart I am getting cool up here with no heat and I already have a bad cold. My mother just told me that I was going to die pretty
soon. I am expecting to have a big party Nov. 9, 25 I have three friend girls from Camden, N.J. coming up for three days and I am going to give them a big time wish you were here Be Sweet & true dear.
Yours,
William
