A Picture for the Radicals

Summary: Relates the story of a man who left his home in Faquier County prior to the Civil War and moved to an area that later became West Virginia. All was fine in the man's new home until he was accused of giving aid to Confederates at the end of the war. The man's neighbors, self-proclaimed "Union men," shot his livestock, burnt his fences, destroyed his crops, threatened his life, and ordered him and his family to leave the county.
