District of Columbia, June 18, 1800.

40 Dollars Reward RAN away from the subscriber yesterday the 16th inst. one mile from Alexandria, on the road that leads to Colchester, two NEGRO MEN; one of them is a stout black fellow, about 24 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, a little bow legged, and somewhat round shouldered-had on when he ran away an oznabrigs shirt and overalls, a tolerable good wool hat; a drab coat lined with green bays, about half worn. His name is SAM; was brought from Annerundle [sic] County, Maryland, about 10 days ago. The other is about the same age, and is but light made, and a bright mulatto--had on a check shirt, and a new pair of oznabrigs trowsers, new felt hat and new shoes. His name is SAM also, and was raised in Baltimore. If any person should take up said Negroes, and lodge them in any jail so that the owners can get them, he shall have the above reward, and all reasonable expenses paid by JOHN HUMPHRIES WILLIAM ROBINS Living in N. Carolina, Wilkes county. June 17.
