Virginia Gazette (Purdie),
Williamsburg, April 21, 1775.

Ten pounds reward. RUN away, two convicted servant men, just imported from London, in the Justitia, Capt. Kidd, lying at Leeds town, viz. WILLIAM PEARCE, a stout likely fellow, five feet eight or nine inches high, red hair, fair complexion, tolerably well dressed, and is about 25 years of age. RALPH EMANUEL, about six feet high, a likely strong made man, darkish coloured hair, well dressed, with a chocolate coloured surtout coat and red cape, a little tarred, a bound hat with a black band round it, and about 22 years of age. They left the company in which they were travelling a few miles above Leeds town, and both will endeavour to pass for sailors. To those used to the smell of servants just from a ship, they will be easily discovered, unless they have procured new clothes. I will give 6 l. for securing, or 10 l. for bringing both home, and half for each. All masters of ships are forbid harbouring them, at their peril. ANDREW LEITCH. DUMFRIES, April 6, 1775.
