When the African Methodist Episcopal Bishop Henry M. Turner condemned the American flag, he was criticized for his lack of patriotism. The writer says that Bishop Turner has more reason to feel animosity toward the American flag, though he is still wrong. The letter also says that Mayor McCarthy is hypocritical because he has Irish ancestry. There was also an attempt to burn the house of al local pastor who condemned the actions of the mob. The editorial charges that the government is not doing everything it can to find the perpetrators because local community sentiment is against it.
