"Own a Piece of History"

~Real Estate Ad for Locust Hill, September 12, 1982
(Lay, Real Estate Clippings)

At least a portion of two of the properties associated with the Lewis family stayed in the original family, Clover Fields and the Locust Hill graveyard. Real Estate agencies that have advertised the other homes over the years have tried to sell the home as "a piece of history," whereas others have ignored a dwelling's claim to fame entirely (Lay, Real Estate Clippings). In talking to the present owners of some of these properties, many acquired and kept their home because of its historic significance and also because they felt it was their duties as family members to protect and in some cases commemorate their homes.
