TAKEN UP and committed to jail in the county of New-Kent the 20th of June last a negro man about five feet seven or eight inches high, rather of dark complexion, says he is about 30 years old and named MOSES and did belong to one Edmund Daney of the county of Edgecomb in North Carolina, and was sold by said Daney to one Mannin or Manil, who was going to the state of Georgia, and that he ran away in may [sic] last. He has a scar on his breast, cheak, [sic] and forehead. The owner is desired to pay charges and take him away. J. R. & J. H. Christians, Deputy sheriffs, for Benedict Crump, sheriff.
