RANAWAY last night from the subscriber near this city, GEORGE , A STOUT made mulatto man, 24 or 25 years old, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, with a conspicuous scar under his left jaw, occasioned by a defective tooth, a large scar on the back of his right hand from the cut of a knife, and a small one in the forehead, occasioned by some accident when a child, stutters a little when about to speak, a bushy head of hair, legs rather small from the constant use of boots, and generalls of sulky looks and temper; he knows a little of the shoemakers trade and is, when he pleases, a very complete domestic servant. As he has several times travelled with me into the northern states, he possibly may endeavor to go that way, or towards Kentucky, where his mother and other connexions are. The above reward will be paid on delivering him to me, or lodging him in some secure jail, so that I get him again. JOHN MAYO. Richmond, July 26, 1799.
