The Geography of Slavery

Virginia Chronicle and Norfolk and Portsmouth General Advertiser (Baxter and Wilson),

Taken up, and Committed to Norfolk Borough Goal, a likely young Negro fellow who calls himself JOE; he informs that he formerly belonged to Plesent Cox, in Brandon County, Virginia, and he was purchased by David Slocam, of Georgia, South-Carolina, last Winter. The owner is desired to apply and prove his property and take him away. WILLIAM WARD, Goaler. Norfolk, May 31, 1793.
