The Geography of Slavery

Virginia Herald and Fredericksburg Advertiser (Green),
Fredericksburg, May 9, 1793

FORTY DOLLARS REWARD, WILL be paid to any person who will deliver to the subscriber, or secure him in any jail, so that he may be got again, a Slave named WIATT; who may, however, have changed his name, and passed for a free man, as he has been several times seen in Fredericksburg. He is about 5 feet 11 inches high, of a yellowish complexion, his legs ill shapen, and he had on when he went away, such cloathing as negroes usually wear; but probably he may have a variety, as he is very artful, and by trade a Blacksmith. GAWIN CORBIN. Caroline, May 6th, 1793.
