RAN-AWAY from the subscriber, in Augusta county, branch of the Shenandoah, ten miles from Rockfish-Gap, the 17th March last, a Mulatto Man Slave named JOHN, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high: had on a blue jack-coat and under waistcoat, green buckskin breeches; about 28 years of age, has a slit in one of his ears, his legs much drawn in knots by the cramps and can speak the Dutch and English language. It is supposed that he has procured a pass, and will call himself GEORGE M'COY; he is a good waggoner, and can work at the smith's business. I caution all masters of vessels at their peril from carrying him out of the state. I will give TEN DOLLARS REWARD to any person who will secure him, so that I get him again, and reasonable charges if brought home. JACOB BERRIER. April 1793.
