The Geography of Slavery

Virginia Gazette and General Advertiser (Davis),
Richmond, December 12, 1792.

Committed to the jail of Culpeper county, a negro man, who first called himself MOSES CLASBY, but now Roger Fox, is about 24 or 25 years old, had on a blue sagathy coat, striped Virginia cloth jacket and breeches, housemade stockings, coarse leather shoes--says he belongs to to John Corbin, of King William county, and that he ran away from his Green branch quarter in the county of Middlesex. The owner is desired to prove his property, pay charges, and take him away. TIMOTHY MATLOCK, Jailor Of Culpeper county. December 1st, 1792.
