The Geography of Slavery

Virginia Gazette and General Advertiser (Davis),
Richmond, December 12, 1792.

FIVE POUNDS REWARD. RAN AWAY the 22 November, from the subscriber, living in Charlote [sic] county, three miles form the court house, a MULATTO LAD, named Saras Thaxton, about 18 years old, 5 feet 5 inches high, well made, talks bold; had on when he went away a blue fustian coat, Virginia spun; as to his other clothing I can't recollect, as he had sundry other cloaths. It is supposed he is about Richmond, as he was seen in Manchester the 29th of Nov, last. Whoever will deliver the said lad to me, or to Daniel Gordon, in Manchester, shall receive the above reward, paid by me, HUGH FRAZER. December 10, 1792.
