The Geography of Slavery

Virginia Gazette or American Advertiser (Hayes),
Richmond, January 4, 1783.

CAME to my plantation at Carter's Ferry, on James River, about the 15th or 18th of November last, four NEGROES, viz. a wench named Dinah, appears to be about forty years of age, with a young child in her arms named Sie; a boy named Sambo, about fourteen years of age; and a boy about ten years of age, son to the wench. They say they belong to one Samuel Burley, of the State of Georgia. The owner is desired to pay charges and take them away. JOHN WOODSON.
