Williamsburg, June 20, 1777.

RUN away from the subscriber in Augusta, the 10th of April last, a negro man named GEORGE, 21 years old, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, has a remarkable scar on the side of his head, occasioned bv a scald, and a small streak of hair grows through the said scar. He was purchased in Fauquier county, and probably is gone there, or may endeavour to get to some seaport, with a view to make his escape out of the country. He took with him a white broadcloth coat, a new macaroni hat, a pair of pale blue worsted stockings, a silk streaked jacket, and many other things; also a white horse, something dappled, about 5 years old, about 13 hands and a half high, paces, trots, and gallops, his mane hangs on the left side, branded on the near shoulder G S turned upside down, and on the buttock G H, with a new saddle, and a blue cloth bound with white. Whoever delivers the said negro to me shall have 20 DOLLARS reward, and for the horse and saddle 10 DOLLARS. GEO: CRISMAN.
