The Geography of Slavery

Williamsburg, November 10, 1752.

RAN away from the Subscriber, living in Cumberland County, an Irish Convict Servant Man, named William Ryan, about 23 Years of Age, short Stature, Pock-fretten, with blue Eyes, by Trade a Wig-maker, and liv'd some Time with Mr. Robert Lynn, and Mr. Richard Gamble, Wig-makers in Williamsburg: Had on, when he went away a blue Coat, with white Metal Buttons, a blue double-breasted jacket lin'd with Plaid, a Pair of Ticken Breeches, and Shoe-boots. He is a great Thief and stole some purchas'd Wigs, &c. which he expos'd to Sale at the Falls of James River. Whoever brings him to me shall have Three Pistoles Reward, paid by W. Battersby.
