Williamsburg, October 6, 1752.

September 18, 1752. RAN away from the Subscriber, living in Richmond County, a Servant man, named Matthew Powell, born near Bristol, in England, about 5 Feet 5 Inches high, stoops and straddles much in his Walk, caused by his having the Pox: He took with him a dark Fustian Frock, a Calico Jacket, a brown Wig, and a fine Linen ruffled Shirt, a blue Jacket with Brass Bottoms, a Fearnothing Jacket and Breeches, two Oznabrig Shirts, one Pair of Breeches, and a Pair of Trowsers, a fine Hat of about a Guinea Price, a Pair of single-channel'd Boots, a grey Horse, mark'd R B on the near Buttock, in very good Order, and a Saddle with a blue Fringed housing. Also an Irish Servant Man, named Peter Helpen, about 30 Years of Age, by Trade a Staymaker and Taylor, with a very roguish Countenance: He took with him a young grey Horse, mark'd CB in a Piece, a black Duroy Frock and Breeches with Glass Buttons, two Hats, one fine and the other coarse, with a large Glass Button on it, a check'd Shirt, and some dark coloured Cloaths. Whoever will apprehend and secure them and the Horses, so that I may have them again, shall have 1000 Weight of Crop Tobacco Reward, besides what the Law allows; if they are taken separate 800 Weight, for each Man and Horse, paid by Joseph Simpson.
