Williamsburg, Sept. 23, 1752. RAN away last Night about 11 o'clock, a white Servant Woman, named Sarah Benfield, about 5 Feet 2 Inches high, about 30 Years of Age, of a dark Complexion, with bad Teeth and black Hair, which curls down her Neck behind; she is an Englishwoman, and speaks the Lancashire Dialect very broad: had on when she went away a Pair of fine Pink coloured Worsted Stockings, and Leather Shoes, an old dark brown quilted Petticoat, a check'd Apron, a strip'd Manchester Cotton Bed Gown, and a black Beaver hat. She stole an almost new white Calicoe Gown, a light colour'd Camblet Gown, a brown quilted Petticoat lined with yellow Bays, a plain Holland shirt, an old tarr'd Man's Flannel Jacket, a Pair of blue-grey Mens Stockings, check'd Trowsers, and several other Things, and 'tis suppos'd will endeavor to make her Escape on Board some Ship in a Sailors Dress. Whosoever brings her to me, shall have a Pistole Reward. John Stretch. N.B. As it is imagined she is lurking about this City, whoever harbours her will be prosecuted to the utmost Rigour of the Law.
