The Geography of Slavery

Virginia Gazette (Purdie & Co.),
Williamsburg, June 13, 1766.

RUN away from the subscriber in Richmond, on JAMES river, about the first of May last, a Negro fellow named QUAMONY, appears to be old, his head and beard almost white, speaks very bad English, and is remarkably thin; he probably stays in the lower end of Nansemond or Norfolk counties. Whoever brings, or sends him to me, shall have 20 s. reward. ROBERT BROWN.
