The Geography of Slavery

Williamsburg, October 27, 1752.

October 26, 1752. BROKE out of Middlesex Goal, a few Days ago, a Negroe Man, belonging to Mr. Wormeley at Urbanna, named Robin; he is a Gardiner, and belong'd formerly to Sir William Gooch; he was committed for Felony, is about 5 Feet 10 Inches high, and much pitted with the Small-pox; has great Variety of Cloaths, viz. blue Cloth, white Fustian Coats, Silk Wastecoats, English Buckskin Breeches, Silver Shoe, Knee, and Neck Buckle, Worsted, Cotton, and Silk Stockings. Whoever apprehends and conveys him to the said Goal shall have Two Pistoles Reward, besides what the Law allows, paid by R. Wormely.
