Two notations of criminal cases made in the Albemarle County, Virginia Minute Books for 1864:

"Robert a slave entered the boot and shoe shop attached to and adjourning the dwelling of a free man of color Sylvanyus Fisher with intent the goods and chattels to steal take and carry way 6 pairs of boots one new shoe and 2 pieces of bacon the value of $450."

"Tucker a slave, stole a cotton counterpane and cotton material worth $2000 from Sarah Spears, a free woman of color."
