SLAVE REQUISITIONS
February 15, 1864

In Henrico County Court, 11th February, 1864.--The Court again met today pursuant to its adjournment, and of the slaves named in the list adopted on Monday, thirty two slaves were produced to the Sheriff according to said order, and the Court having heard the excuses of certain persons named in said list, erased their names from the same, and for reasons appearing added to the said list the names of certain others, and classified certain persons for draft; and the Court doth therefore order that the following persons produce the slaves opposite their names in the subjoined list to the Sheriff of this county, at the Court House, on Monday, the 15th day of February, 1864, by 12 o'clock, on which said day the Court will proceed finally to dispose of the whole matter, and to direct the Sheriff to take into possession the slaves of all owners who on that day are not excused or otherwise exempted, each of whom in such case will be liable to a fine of $10 per day for each slave not delivered, besides a fee of $5 to the Sheriff for taking the slaves, and ordered the same to be published in the Richmond Dispatch until that day.
