Joseph Poff on Private Schools and Desegregation
|
|
In an interview with a WSLS reporter, Franklin County Delegate Joseph Poff claimed he did
not think that integration would precipitate the creation of whites only private schools
because there simply were not enough residents of Floyd County who would wish to send
their children to private schools. Although Poff did not know of any specific plans, he
anticipated some desegregation in counties that did not have accredited high schools.
